Water polo powerhouse family members Ricardo, Tony & Cassie Azevedo have joined together to form Azevedo Water Polo.
Tony played in Europe and Brazil for 12 years and became a five-time Olympian in Rio de Janeiro. Ricardo began as an Olympic player and has been a coach for over 30 years, including eight years in Europe. Cassie played at Long Beach State University and then went on to several professional seasons in Hungary & Italy.
As a team, the Azevedo’s are using their passion for the sport, their knowledge of global and American professional networks, and their personal contacts to grow the sport and connect water polo enthusiasts around the world.
Their goal is to enhance the training of youth in both the United States, Europe and beyond, by providing experiences abroad that push players outside of their usual comfort zones. An additional plus is that players will also undergo full immersion in a new culture.
Azevedo Water Polo aims to globalize and grow the sport of water polo by creating unique travel and training opportunities for teams and individuals. It is also a forum that will communicate information and ideas about our sport that you can’t find anywhere else.
